Excited to give Southern Utah some love today and share this great engagement session by Keek Photography. You can tell this is a fun loving couple that also share passion for one another. I loved how easy this session felt and how happy it is! Both the bride and the groom sent me their versions of how they met and how Paydon proposed, today I am reaching a little outside of our bridal box to the groom for his version, it is adorable!

We met on the 4th floor of the library at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah. Mikaela was wearing these forest green rubber boots because it was the rare occasion of snow in St. George. I approached her acting like I was wanting to help tutor her on her chemistry homework, but my real intention was to get her phone number. I teased her about wearing rubber boots to school so then she pointed out the window to show me a giant “M” for “Mikaela” she had made in the snow by dragging her feet with her rubber boots on the common’s field below. The M must have been at least 100×100 yards long across the entire field. This was the start of out relationship as I was successful in getting her number. We dated for 2 years when Mikaela left serve a LDS mission in Madrid spain. Upon Mikaela’s return, we continued dating for 9 additional months before I proposed. The proposal happened sept 9th at Pineview Reservoir. Unbeknownst to Mikaela, I set up a giant 12-person paddleboard covered in rose pedals and anchored it in a secluded area with calm water. Later on, I picked up Mikaela and took her to back to Pineview, on an additional paddleboard, Mikaela and I paddled together and arrived at the rose pedal covered paddleboard at dusk. We stepped onto the board and I proposed to her.
