We do not often post about DIY weddings, but we know here in UT there are a good many of you who need or want to do some elements DIY, or in some cases the vast majority of your big day celebration needs to be DIY. We are big supporters of the local companies that provide services + products here in the industry but we also know that DIY has it’s place. Lindsey Shaun Photography sent us this summer DIY wedding, and we loved what Jessica + Greg did to make the whole DIY thing work for them!
Jessica purchased her gown from a bridal shop going out of business on clearance and then had it altered to more closely accommodate her style + needs. Greg rented his tux, and the two of them chose not to have bridesmaids or groomsman and therefor did not have to worry about all the fashion needs of their bridal party. Jessica is a cosmetologist so she did her own makeup but her cousin, who also is a professional, did her hair. Jessica’s diamond was passed down to them and their bands were purchased wholesale from a friendly professional source. When it comes to food they have some big supporters on their team, close friends took care of all the edibles and another family connection took care of the cake. The decor was nearly all DIY with the purchase of lanterns from Oriental Trading company and loads of jars and frames they found at thrift shops. The jars were used for flowers and the frames they painted all the same color and filled with visual representation of their love. They utilized Jessica’s parents HOA building in Sunset to celebrate. Jessica + Greg you nailed the whole DIY thing, congrats!
