So excited to jump into sharing the content from our just released magazine issue. In every issue I try and offer up a variety of inspiration and also some mainstays, this issue includes a section of winter wedding cake inspiration from local cake creatives.
Emily @ The Pear Blossom wanted to utilize the trend of naked cake for the winter as it ties in so well being that winter often turns our outside world naked, all the gardens and trees stripped of their foliage. The custom macrame ribbon by Ballantyne Design at the base of the naked cake ads a unique texture and creates a woodsy boho vibe perfectly on trend for this winter’s weddings. The Naked cake + macrame ribbon pair well with the classic white bottom tier, which is piped with a subtle, white on white “bird’s nest” texture. All of this was accented with evergreens and flowers and styled atop a hand-turned cake pedestal made from silver maple. All of the different elements combined together really draw out the feeling of stark, natural beauty of the woods in winter.
