You might remember this wedding from back in April, we put it on our insta story because we were there! Alex and Erika met on Tinder and quickly bonded over their love for books, board games, and burritos. Alex proposed with a rose gold and diamond ring with an opal center stone, which served as inspiration for their rustic and quirky wedding. They were married on April 15th in the Provo City Center Temple. The bride wore an intricately beaded dusty rose tulle dress by BHLDN, and the groom wore a teal JF J. Ferrar suit. Alex and Erika had a lot of DIY elements to their wedding- Erika’s mother sewed the table runners and Erika did all the hand lettering for the chalkboard signs. The bride also did all of the flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces for the wedding, working exclusively with succulents. Provo Bakery made the wedding cake, and Erika decorated it with more succulents and edible gold leaf on the morning of the wedding. Having both lived in Provo for nearly ten years, they called on some of their favorite local vendors to help them pull off their big day. Sweeto Burrito contributed their fun and funky flair by catering the reception, which was held at the beautiful Startup Building in Provo. The Startup Building’s warm brick walls, cafe lighting, and copper sliding doors added to the rustic feel of the wedding. For music, Something Borrowed Harp and Strings (led by local harpist Jenessa Smith a.k.a. Goldmyth) provided live covers of everything from Sufjan Stevens to Metallica. The guests sent off the bride and groom with sparklers and a post-it note covered car and took home tiny potted succulents as favors. Pretty darn adorable wedding! Congrats Erika + Alex, thanks for sharing your day with us back in April and on the blog!
