Today we continue down the aisle of our desert inspired elopement style editorial, shot by Alyssa Ence. It is all about the fashion today, an important factor in any wedding but especially for an elopement. It really is all about the bride + groom when two lovers elope, fashion + style true to the couple play a crucial role. For this editorial we brought in top notch fashion contributions.
Julie Thomas at Blow Beauty in St. George was our hair + makeup artist, a fire catch as she is highly sought after, especially in her region! She heard us when we communicated design style and she also worked with our model to compliment what she actually looks like and nailed it. Perfect bridal elopement vibe! Here is what she had to say:
I loved styling for this shoot! For her hair I wanted to show of her gorgeous face so I kept it soft and romantic. We added in her extensions and I created a large soft textured braid then gently twisted pieces back into the braid. Her skin was flawless so I kept it soft and sultry. To compliment her eye color I stayed in the warm brown tones to make them pop. I stayed away from black liner because it can get distracting fast. I smudged coppery shadows on the top and bottom lash line for extra glow and finished with my favorite nude pink lip that flatters every bride and skin tone.
The bridal gown on this shoot came from Avenia Bridal, one of our most favorite local sources for bridal gowns. Designed by Tara Keeley we loved the sheath lace, slim fit, + train. We wanted something wedding formal but conducive to the what a bride likely would wear should she want to plan a simple elopement. A comfortable gown with just the right amount of formality + unique detail to make it bridal.
The jewelry on this shoot came from Amanda Hill’s shop in Cedar City, UT – Recycled Consign & Design. A long time personal favorite store + designer, we knew what Amanda would bring would be meaningful, relevant, and unique. We love her eclectic mix of old + new goods!
Our grooms fashion was also important, score for us Chris has amazing style and a plethora of custom suits in his own closet. We accessorized him with a tie from Waltman & Co, one of our favorite tie sources here in UT and let him work his own magic in fashion, he had plenty of it!
Stay tuned tomorrow for a closer look at what this elopement looked like!
